Garcia bought a car from my uncle. In the late 80s my uncle, who lives in Marin County, had an old BMW for sale in front of his house. One day, a limo pulls up and the driver (I wonder who it was now that I think about it) goes to the door and says, "how much for the car, Jerry Garcia wants to buy it." He did buy it (cash) and came in to my uncle's house for a quick visit. My uncle was and is, in no imaginable way, a Deadhead.

He was busted in the park in Jan 1985 so if the sale was late 80s then it must've been a different one.

Damn, here I was trying to set up a defense for Jer to blame it on Pat's uncle ("hey man, just bought this car and the same was here. It ain't mine" - never mind statute of limitiations or fact he was caught in the act) At least the kids are getting those Pure Jerry releases out now....

Oh, trust me...all that stuff came with the CA Yuppie model...in the glove box. Next to the owner's manual.

I met Jerry Garcia behind the Santa Cruz civic in the early 70s. The back entrance was a good place to smoke a cigarette. A van pulls up with several people in it. Garcia and his friends get out and start unloading their equipment. I joined the fun like a hired hand. Then it was time for a smoke and then some chat about music and that night's show.

Of course I had a ticket and some weed so we smoked a joint too. We crossed paths again at the Catalyst in the mid 80s...

That's funny. I was wondering the same thing. How many BMW's did he own? Maybe the previous one had been confiscated.
